What is Transition Mentoring?
In connection with local schools and colleges, Transition Mentoring is one-to-one mentoring for young people aged 15-19, who are at risk of becoming NEET (not in employment, education and training) upon leaving education.
Our aim is to support those young people most at risk of leaving school or college NEET. Mentoring covers areas such as communication skills, positive mental attitude, effective teamwork, improving personal presentation, as well as identifying a potential career path.
Once the young person has left education, they progress into our Traffic Light Mentoring programme. This makes sure there is a support structure in place so that no young person has to end up in the vulnerable position of being long-term NEET.
Where and When?
We tailor the locations and times around each school and college’s timetable and preferences. Previous transition mentoring has taken place on and off site, within and outside of school hours.
