Starting Point.

Starting Point is a mentoring project that supports young people aged 15-25 who are, or are at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training). Since we started in 2012 we have strived to meet the need of young people, particularly those hardest to reach.

Our Mentoring Programmes

Traffic Light Mentoring is designed to support young people aged 16-25 throughout their journey of attaining, maintaining and thriving within education, employment and training.

 Mentoring works in connection with local schools and colleges. This involves one-to-one mentoring for young people aged 15-19, who are at risk of becoming NEET (not in employment, education and training) upon leaving education.

We are passionate about seeing every young person released into a brighter and more hopeful future.

Starting Point. have mentored over 83 young people so far this year. Of those:

41 have entered education, employment and training.

30% have a learning difficulty or disability.

55% have no/low qualifications.

56% have mental health struggles.

12% have criminal records.

The Mustard Tree is a family of projects seeking to be a voice for the unheard.

We strive to identify, support and empower the misunderstood and overlooked in our local community.

Connecting isolated, older people with their local community through visits from a volunteer befriender.
